Primary Therapist

Marvaughn McCray is a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern (RMHCI) and Nationally Certified Trauma Coach (NCTC) who currently serves as a primary therapist and group facilitator. Her journey began with an Associate of Science Degree in Paralegal Studies, which she pursued while working for many years for law firms as a paralegal. Marvaughn’s years of experience in the legal field exposed her to clients who had suffered catastrophic injuries from work-related incidents and car accidents. These life-altering events often left clients in a state of physical pain, emotional distress, and psychological turmoil, leading them to seek relief through substances.

After gaining valuable experience in the legal field, Marvaughn felt a strong desire to make a difference in substance use/mental health treatment. This led her to return to school, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in human services. During her undergraduate studies, Marvaughn interned at a substance abuse/mental health facility, igniting her passion for substance use/mental health counseling. She later obtained a Master of Education specializing in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Florida Atlantic University.

In her practice, Marvaughn employs an integrative approach to therapy. Drawing from person-centered therapy, motivational interviewing (MI), cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) and solution-focused therapy, Marvaughn helps clients identify their strengths and resources to facilitate positive change. As a certified EMDR therapist and trauma coach, she is dedicated to helping clients navigate their challenges and achieve their goals, fostering resilience and personal growth in a supportive environment. Through her compassionate and goal-oriented approach, Marvaughn empowers individuals to envision and work toward a brighter future.
